The Larson Lake parking area is located on the east side of the road, marked by signs. The trails are well-signposted and feature options for skate skiing through old-growth pine or classic skiing along a ridge that overlooks marshlands and glacial kettles. Some trails are single-tracked, while others are double-tracked. This trail system is located south and west of Crosby-Ironton on Nelson Road and is maintained as part of the Crow Wing County Park System.
