Salem West/Mustard Seed Thrift

As an Outreach of Salem Lutheran Church located in Deerwood, Minnesota, Salem West collaborates with local social services and nonprofit organizations to provide families in our community with the essentials needed to establish a new home and support them in regaining their footing. Numerous families face challenges stemming from divorce, addiction, homelessness, unexpected life shifts, or the mere loss of employment. Annually, the efforts of devoted volunteers positively affect over 500 families in the Brainerd Lakes area. At Salem West, volunteers gather community donations, then clean, launder, and inspect these goods, aiming to assist families in advancing their lives. Volunteer delivery teams have the privilege of providing families with essential items such as diapers, furniture, clothing, along with a prayer of hope. Salem thrives thanks to the incredible volunteers who contribute immensely to this community. Volunteers from across the Brainerd Lakes areas collaborate with Salem’s staff to create a significant impact.
