Cuyuna Brewing Company

Much like other brewers, Nick Huisinga, got his start by home-brewing in his garage on weekends. With a background in science through his vaccine production job, he quickly discovered that not only did he like brewing beer, he was good at it. Originally from Willmar, MN, Nick, discovered the beautiful Cuyuna Lakes area on a mountain biking trip with a friend in 2015. He came home and excitedly told his wife, Laura, "I found the place we're going to build our brewery!" Nick won the whole family over and along with their three kids, they began their greatest adventure yet. From sleeping in a camper through months of renovations, to living in a two bedroom apartment with 5 people and 3 pets, the whole family soldiered on with the dreams of building Cuyuna Brewing Co. They opened the doors to the taproom in 2017 and never looked back. When we say we are family owned and operated, we mean it. The kids went from pre-teens who helped with months and months of demolition to young adults who pour beer, wash kegs, and deliver product. We love that we get to do this together and our goal has always been to create a space where you can do things together with your family. It's an honor for our family to serve yours!
